With Key Output 0 enabling works for the Reading remodelling programme due to be completed by January 2011, these pictures show the station before major rebuilding work begins.

The pictures also reveal the Royal Mail land leased by Network Rail which is being converted into an operations base. The sorting office will be used to store plant and materials and the office (seen with delivery van in front) is already being used by Network Rail staff.

Contractor BAM Nuttall, which is working on the Vastern and Caversham bridges at either end of Reading station, has a small compound in the car park behind the sorting office.
