Gallery 147: Farringdon station
Pictures from June 2011 © Transport Briefing/Network Rail
The gallery shows latest progress at the Farringdon west and east sites during May and June 2011.
The western pictures (7-13) relate to the Thameslink/Crossrail integrated ticket hall with the steel frame for the Thameslink part of the ticket hall being assembled. Most of the pictures were taken in May but there are two (7 and 13) taken in June which show the first V-shaped roof supports which can also be seen in Network Rail's diagram of how the finished ticket hall will look.
The eastern site (1-6), next to Smithfield Market, will provide access to Crossrail at the other end of the Farringdon platforms. The buildings on the site have been demolished and the Laing O'Rourke/Strabag joint venture has recently taken possession of the site following the award of advance works package C430.
