DLR City Airport extension opening ceremony

The City Airport extension is the latest route to be added to the UK's largest light rail network, which is at the heart of transport planning for the London 2012 Olympics and will help underpin major housing development in the Thames Gateway region. Work has already started on a further extension which will link the new George V station, via a tunnel under the River Thames, to Woolwich Arsenal. The Airport extension was officially opened on 6 December 2005.
